Three Types of Excavation Contractors’ Work in Sydney

There is a popular belief that excavation is only one task and there are no further classifications of this kind of work.  A common way of classifying excavation is by type of excavated material like topsoil, rock, muck, unclassified etc. In this post, I have given few types of excavation done in Australia.

Earth excavation is a removal of the layer of soil under the topsoil and on top of rock. It is mainly uses with the earth moving equipment like plant hire in Sydney. This kind of excavation cannot be excavated without drilling and blasting.

Muck excavation is a removal of material which has an excessive amount of water and to remove all kinds of unwanted soil. Its consistency is depending on the water contained in that soil.

Unclassified digging work which is done is removal is a combination of topsoil, earth, rock, and muck. Many excavation contractors Sydney use this classification. It means that earthmoving must be done without regard to the materials encountered.

  1. I had no idea that there are different types of excavation. I bet the water level in the ground make a big difference in the sort of job that needs to be done. Do you need different types of equipment for a job that involves very wet soil? http://www.maudsleyexcavations.com.au/services
